Our Impact

Climb Wyoming is a national leader in poverty alleviation.

Fearless dedication and a proven model create life-long changes that impact families, neighborhoods, schools, communities, and Wyoming’s economy.

Community Impact

When single moms find the courage to reach out to Climb and move out of poverty into stable, well-paying employment, communities become healthier and more vibrant. Benefits include increased economic mobility and reduction in government assistance, healthier children who are set up for success in school, and a robust and resilient local workforce.

The Path to Self-Sufficiency

After just three months of training within a community of support, Climb graduates are starting new careers and discovering new lives. After two years, they are continuing an upward trend, earning self-sufficient wages and benefits that allow them to transition off public assistance and provide financial stability for their children. To date, we’ve helped thousands of families reach self-sufficiency through our program to help single mothers.

91% of Climb graduates are employed full-time post program.

As graduates’ wages increase, 79% reduce their food stamp use.

Access to private health insurance more than triples for Climb graduates.

The State of Wyoming has saved over $120 million
from decreased dependence on public assistance programs among Climb graduates.

“Thanks to Climb, I feel more secure.”

Before graduating from Climb’s Commercial Driving License (CDL) training in Casper three years ago, Kendra was surviving paycheck to paycheck, working at a gas station for $10 an hour. “It was pretty bleak. I wasn’t able to spend much time with my daughter because of my work schedule.” During this time in her life, Kendra says she relied on food stamps and other community assistance programs. After completing training, Kendra began her job placement at the Food Bank of Wyoming, where she earns a high enough salary that she no longer needs government assistance. “I am giving my daughter opportunities that she didn’t have before.”

Meeting Wyoming’s workforce needs

Climb graduates are filling jobs in Wyoming’s workforce during a continued labor shortage, especially in healthcare and transportation. All graduates who complete this program are matched with a new job – earning more money, feeling valued at work, and making a difference for themselves and their families.

“Poverty is isolating. So I love seeing a Climb graduate driving by in a truck as she honks and waves, or at a soccer game with her kids. Now she is the one making the impact…for her family and our Wyoming communities.”

Breaking the Cycle of Generational Poverty

Poverty that is passed down from one generation to the next creates significant barriers to job success, trapping low-income single mothers and their children in a cycle that Climb participants are ready to break.

Children benefit when parents increase their education and income. They have greater access to academic and extracurricular activities, more stable schedules at home, and role models for career success.

Climb has impacted the lives of 25,000 children.

When children move out of poverty, they are three times more likely to thrive in employment as adults.

Your Impact

When you support Climb Wyoming, you support a program to help single mothers get better paying, in-demand jobs. You also create life-changing impacts for women, their families, and our Wyoming communities.

DONATE NOW

“When I was teaching, it seemed like single mothers had such an uphill battle to earn a living wage and also be there for their kids like they wanted to. We love supporting a program that builds up women with the skills to do both. Once kids see their mother’s success, it opens up a whole new world of opportunities.”
