Launching Professional Careers
Many women in Laramie’s recent program came to Climb unemployed or working in low-wage jobs like food service or housekeeping without opportunities for advancement. In coordination with Laramie County Community College, the training provided an exciting opportunity for them to jump into professional careers with higher pay and benefits. The group focused on computer literacy, learning Microsoft Office and other software programs.
Overcoming the Crisis of Poverty
The toxic stress and chaos of living in poverty take a toll on families, so gaining stability in all areas of life is a critical part of Climb’s comprehensive program. Our team worked closely with moms to access resources, especially housing and childcare, so they could calm stressors and focus on learning new job skills. Strategizing and planning are skills that help women succeed both at home and in their new professional careers.
