Meeting Laramie’s Medical Industry Needs

Job skills training at Laramie County Community College included the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) curriculum, which covers medical ethics, HIPAA, medical terminology, patient scheduling, and more. In addition, moms received a phlebotomy certification.

Mock Interviews with Local Business Leaders

“I was impressed by how driven each Climb participant was to be a better version of themselves,” says Doug Faus, CEO of Ivinson Memorial Hospital and a mock interviewer for the training. “They were poised, confident, and able to articulate how their past experiences in life could benefit a new career opportunity.” Representatives from the Albany County School District and the University of Wyoming’s HR department also joined to provide feedback that helps moms prepare for job interviews.

Connections to Community Resources

Climb’s Laramie team worked closely with the women in this program to access community resources in Laramie. These connections included support transitioning from local shelters to independent housing and, for two moms, help accessing local educational resources for children with autism.
